No. The Cite Shop is an independent business. This style is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher or authors of Cite Them Right. It is an independently produced CSL style written to follow the published guidelines as closely as possible.
It follows the 13th editoin of the Cite Them Right guidelines. The edition is stated on this page and inside the file itself, so you always know what you're working with.
Download our plugin, add your licence details, install the style. The included guide covers it in under a minute. The style can now be applied to any document.
Check it. The attached specimen PDF shows every source type formatted as the style produces it — compare it against your own copy of the guidelines before you buy. If you find something that doesn't match, tell us and we'll fix it.
Zotero. The style is built and tested for Zotero, and support and updates cover Zotero only. As a Zotero plugin is required to install the style, only Zotero is supported.
Yes. If the guidelines change or a correction is needed, you'll get the updated file automatically at no extra cost, for as long as your subscription is active.
Yes. You can install the plugin+style for example on your work and private computer. Note though that your licence will be linked to your Zotero account, so you can only use it with one single Zotero account.
So that updates reach you. When the guidelines change or we fix a bug, The Cite Shop Client Sync fetches the new version of the style automatically instead of you having to remember to come back for it. This way you always have access to the latest version.
Yes. It's $19.99 a year, which covers the style, every update to it, and support (about the citation style. Support about Zotero is not included). It renews automatically on the anniversary of your purchase unless you cancel, and we'll email you before each renewal so it's never a surprise.
From your account page, in a couple of clicks — no email, no form, no explanation required. Cancel at any point and your licence stays active until the end of the year you've already paid for.
Your first year isn't refundable if you simply change your mind. The style is delivered and usable within a minute of ordering, so at checkout you confirm you want it straight away and that you're giving up the 14-day cancellation right — the standard arrangement for digital downloads. That's also why we publish the full specimen bibliography free so you can check everything is in order before buying.
Renewals work differently. If your subscription renews and you didn't want it, tell us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it in full, no reason needed. We email you 30 days before each renewal and again on the day, so it shouldn't catch you out.
And if something is genuinely wrong — a source type that doesn't match the published guidance, or the style not working with a version of Zotero we list as supported — that isn't a change of mind. Tell us and we'll correct it, replace it, or refund you.
